Transition

Last week Hubby and I attended our town's first Transition Town's meeting. We're buzzing about the potential this brings to our suburban existence.

A few weeks earlier we committed our family to our gathered church's community garden. Hubby was sent off this Saturday morning to dig up the plots and plant them in lupin for the winter. I'm keen to document the process of this exciting development in our community life.

In our continued focus to reduce our car usage we bought a kid's bike seat for A (nearly)3 so we can now ride as a family.

Our next step will be to buy a bike trailer sold by the Cycling Church guy in Christchurch.

This all fits in nicely with my current read: "Everything Must Change" by Brian McLaren. I'd been put off reading his earlier stuff because it wasn't about home-learning;-) But dude...mind blowing and so relevant to where our family is at. I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to hear a Christian talking about the same issues as we are.
