I really didn't want to trot out the usual Wednesday outfit, but it appears to be a uniform around here! I took a quick pic once I'd finished my latest stash-busting reversible apron. But yeah, skinny-ish jeans plus Glassons top plus homemade apron.

Sun's Out Photoshoot
The sun came out, so the camera came out;-)
My gorgeous big girl in some of her mama-made summer fashions;-)
I had started to make myself a sunhat from Lotta Jansdotter's Simple Sewing but it became very clear it was going to be too small despite the fact I have a pinhead! So Big Girl scored and loves it!
Sew Liberated's Flora Tunic - using the rest of a thrifted sheet.
A Pillowcase dress from Handmade Home. It's the perfect length for a Big Girl Tunic without chopping any length off it. And yes, from the thrifted sheet set;-) We've got our money's worth.
Another Flora Tunic from leftover Prairie Dress fabric.
A Little House on the Prairie dress with $1/metre fabric from stash.
The full Holly Hobbie look again;-)
Mama's Schoolhouse Tunic in the shirt length - with some cheapy old fabric from deep in the stash. I put hook and eyes across the front of mine so I can close it if I don't want the top underneath to show.
My Retro Redux Shrug in Cascade 220 from South Seas Knitting.

Frilly Angora-Merino booties from Luxury One Skein Wonders. These are truely teeny. They never would have fitted my babbies' clodhoppers!
It was fun firing up the sewing machine yesterday after a bit of a hiatus - inspired by Meg's patterns arriving in the post this week. So I was able to churn out the three tunics for me and my lil' ladies. It's a good feeling watching the fabric stash decrease too (gotta quickly create some space for more fabric that is arriving in a month or so - eek).

Sharing the Love

Please, delurk and leave me a comment. I'd love to hear about your favourite knitting and crafting books or other books that have given you a bit of a lift. I, for one, need that in the middle of our NZ winter.
One of my fellow home-learners will draw a name at random and I'll post to you:

Looking forward to hearing from you all;-)

See, some sewing!
I'm so pleased with myself. In less than a week I've actually managed to do two of my planned projects with my cheap stash.
Some VERY Wide Leg Lounge Pants for me (from Amy Butler's In Stitches). I accidentally made a size too big but it just makes them extra comfy;-) Notice Hubby had to include his real love in the left of the photo.
I love M8's Simple Drawstring Backpack (from Lotta Jansdotter's Simple Sewing). She's going to use it to keep some of her art supplies in...ready for action! I6 almost has one too, once I get a bit of sewing time to finish it off.

Mehndi, nappies & the rest
Excuse the extremely random, waffley nature of this post...that's my brain atm;-)
The girls and I had little Mehndi done on our hands at a recent Indian Bazaar. Fun!
Even though our young man is out of daytime nappies (squeeeeeeee) I still get a buzz making soft, scrummy sherpa nappies for other little botties.
Ah yes, winter is just around the corner. The arrival of the firewood - and disappearance of any discretionary yarn funds up my chimney.
I hope to get a bit more sewing time under my belt this winter as we hibernate inside. Love Lotta's Simple Sewing. Heaps of snazzy, and more to the point, easy projects. I'm also saving for an overlocker - progressing nicely - roll on Mother's Day Sale at my local overlocker store.
I couldn't resist the new Sirdar Hug yarn at my LYS. I bought the sock pattern that went with it with I5 in mind. These were a quick, satisfying knit but, meh, wouldn't do that pattern again. Who really wants to seam socks?
I've been having some even more random and waffley thoughts about my faith while reading Donald Miller's Blue Like Jazz. It's a slightly unsettling but extremely exciting, enjoyable read. I have Through Painted Deserts to listen to on my MP3 player at the gym (oh yeah, maybe I need to get to the gym!).
